I don't consider it silly to get closer to the look of the preproduction vehicle that won over tons of fans at NYAS.
I didn't tune anything out or in. I simply replaced Saleens linear spring with Eibach's linear spring. The eibach spring is slightly shorter, but has a rate and feel close to Saleens. I didn't have to do an alignment trick or anything and my tires are wearing even. I have just as much turn-in grab and feel in steering with just a touch more harshness over larger bumps.
I honestly don't see what magic pixie dust gets spread over linear springs at the Saleen plant. That's like saying don't replace my Saleen brakes with higher-quality Brembos because it'll 'screw it up'.
Interesting take, indeed.

Chuck,
don't get me wrong man, I love the ride...It seems you wanted to achieve a "look" which in my opinion is the wrong reason to upgrade a suspension. Saleen spent a lot of hard track time making sure everything was perfect in the suspension set up...dropping the car is going to change the balance of things and will ultimately detract from the car's handling. Yes, hitting bumps now with a resounding THUMP will slow you down and take away some of the fun.
From all of the reviews I've read, the PJ Stang comes with an amazing suspension that is stiff and race car inspired...why change that set up? I know you got the look you wanted, but trust me, the new springs will put extra strain on the other parts and over time you will experience suspension issues. Trust me.
