I'm confused, why so cheap? S351
So I see this supposed "S351" on eBay for $20K....whats the deal? I don't know nearly as much as you guys about these cars so I can't spot if it is fake (although I don't remember cobra emblems on a S351). The only thing leading me to think that it is fake is the price. Any input?

Looks like it has the plaque below the radio and under the hood. The Cobra emblems aren't original, it's got "highish" miles and the motor was redone (makes you wonder if something happened to the original). If the VIN checks out....it wouldn't be a bad price unless it really had a fatal flaw in its history.

It checks out as a legit S-351. I did not do a nada report but I would guess $18-20k to be a fair price considering its not an all original car. The cobra emblem is obviously a sensless addition by a previous owner [&:]
And I don't recall these cars having "factory" roll cages, but I'm sure the experienced 351 guys can answer that one.

Jason is correct.
It is the real deal. You guys have already covered the incorrect Cobra emblems. The problems with this particular car for a collector are:
The blower was added. This is not an R-Code car. It is also not highly optioned. The high mileage is the real killer here. Maybe in 30 years this car will be worth double if that. Nada is right on suprisingly. A non blown car with the mileage like this is worth 15-16 in this shape. Check PAS.
The two point roll bar was standard. The only good option it has is the hood. It's not the carbon fiber hood but the heat extractor. No leather. At least 3 owners, probably more. Not picking, just wanted to answer your question as best I could.
A really clean actual low mileage car ( sub 10k miles ) with all of the right parts 94-95 can fetch 35K or more.
Oh, and I forgot to add that ANY S351 is strictly a toy. These cars are not daily drivers.

Why do you say that? Just curious.

The motors are not serialized in the S-351's. You will never be able to tell if it is the original block or not. Very few of the early S-351's have the original motor. The 2 point roll bar was called the 2 point chassis brace and was optional. The car on ebay was a decent buy at 18K with the ad on's if they were done right. Most people don't know what to look for. With the car being a lightly optioned car it won't bring much. If it were a true R-code it would be a 23K car with the mileage. As it sits 18K would be a fair deal if you wanted one to drive occassionally. My 96 isn't a street friendly car but, I won't go into that. The other two S-351's (99 and 2000) are very streetable. The one 99 puts 540 rwhp with a stock motor and stock blower!
