Default Power hungry.

I've got a 2005 Saleen S281 that really just doesn't do it for me in the power department. A Granatelli no-tune CAI didn't result in any really noticable power gain. But myMPG's kicked up a couple of miles. Consideration isunderway for a Saleen supercharger later on this year. But a conversation I had with amechanic guy left me thinking I should look at a Diablo tune in the meantime. He cautioned me that the Saleen tune should have tweaked the engine on it's own, and the Diablo may not help. My feeling is that since my speedo is off about 10 percent, my car isa good candidate for some Saleen-love. I've seen other posts by Forum members discussing they sent their ECM to Saleen for a re-flash.

The question is this: Does it seem like a Saleen performance reflash is in order in my case?

Thanks for your inputs.

Mike

Go straight for an SC. Its pointless to waste money on little tweaks in the meantime.

As polk said, just go right for the s/c. You can start adding some bolt on pcs and do a custom tune (not Saleen) and pick up some power. But overall, the $$ would be better spent going towards the blower! As always, how much $$ do want to spend, with the amount of power in return?

actually go ahead and get a tuner now. you will need it when you get your s/c anyways. unless you buy your s/c straight from saleen. imo i would go with one of brenspeeds saleenkits or jdm
