Default '06 Extreme or '08 SC

Hey guys,
So I'm looking at an '06 Extreme (torchfire) with 16k miles on it, and an '08 supercharged Saleen (black) with 3k miles on it. Both roughly the same price. I can't decide which is the better deal. Can you guys/girls give me your input, pros/cons? I don't beleive the Extreme has any warranty left right? And the '08 has the upgraded five spoke rims and new interior, which is a plus. The biggest downside is that I'd be losing roughly 90 horsepower. But if I'm not one to go to the track, or care about dyno sheets, how much of a difference does that extra horsepower make, like going from 70-100 on the highway, or 25-50 through town. Daily driving stuff . is the Extreme as easy to drive daily as the SC? If I throw on the fuel pump, CF splitter and diffuser I'd be close the the extreme anyways right? On one hand I think, how many people can say they own an extreme, but on the other hand i think 95% of people I tell I own a Saleen won't know what the f**k I'm talking about anyways lol. Would love to hear from you guys!

Not sure the 08 S/C has a warranty on it either considering Saleen was dissolved. Something to consider.

I'd go with the extreme. The forged internals alone would be worth it.....not to mention the fact that you could get more power out of it if you started to have the itch (everyone does eventually). If you ever wanted to forge the internals on the '08....you're talking about around $8k parts and labor.

Both are easy to drive. Both are pretty rare. In a bizarre twist of fate....the 08 S/C might actually be more rare than an 06 extreme. Nobody's sure on the numbers.

Get the 06 SC in Red for multiple reasons:

First, Saleens looks terrible in black, i would know, they have blackout panels and deep vents which all look boring when in black, especially at night. This is my biggest issue, I'm likely to repaint my car at a cost of $8,000 due to this (one advantage of black is the engine bay and seams don't need painting)

The extreme is MUCH faster than the S/C and can be tuned to about 600 horsepower with no reproductions, the S/C would be 500 max.

Saleen went bankrupt in 2008 and none of the cars have a Warranty.

People take better care of the extremes.

The Carbon Fibre Diffusers Look Amazing.

The Extreme's transmission is far more reliable than the S/C because it has an indestructable six speed.

It has a six speed which is a much much better transmission in every way.

Saleen fired all of their good workers around 2008 and the 2006 and cars around that time have the best workmanship by far.

The depreciation will be lower.

Saleen used the ribbed seats in 2006 versus 2008 where they used an inferior quality seat that was mass produced from a much cheaper manufacturer and didn't look that great. I'll be honest that a big thing that got me liking the car in the first place was the interesting seats.

Extreme all the way. The forged motor, 6 -speed, splitter & diffuser, 15 inch brakes are big differences worth having, imo.

I figured everyone would say the extreme at the same price, but curious of the price.

defective as in they don't stop the car?? that would suck. Guess it would only take once for them to not wanna work and you have yourself a $30k+ hunk of metal

They stop, but they just make a lot of noise doing it, squeaking and sounding very annoyingly loud. This has been mentioned as a big problem of the 05-08 Saleens.
