I'm curious what the top speed is on a supercharged 2008 281 is. I saw a video of an unsupercharged one hit 157mph so i was curious as to what the supercharger would bring it to and is it governed?

There was a post a couple of years ago where Billy Tally stated top speeds. I think you would be around 180-185 if I remember correctly. Use the search and you will find the posts.

Yes they are all governed, around 145, unless a retune changed it.

S281 E

145 sounds right. Obviously its capable of more but you would ahve to change the tune. The extreme's do not come with a governer on the tune.

You might have to hold the fenders on the car past 150 and the way the hood shakes gettin up that fast is nervy! I found the WMS stealth hood pins worked well on the hood fluttering though and it does not make the car look like a 60's hot rod with pins in the hood.

For an S197 to hit 180 would take serious power, and/or tons of road.

I've hit 150 in my Cobra no problem. 145 in my 07 GT (Vortech S/C'ed) feels very unstable at those speeds.

Your car with a Governor will hit 152. Without, it should hit 170-180 with power and gearing and open road to support it.

I've seen 157 by gps and was running out of road fast and it was climbing fast still.

I just talked to Jim Damore and he said he had an Extreme S197 up to 207mph out on an airstrip close to the Irvine Facility with different gears in the rear. He also said that he has ran one up to 157mph in 5th gear.
The fastest he said he went in a Saleen was close to 243mph in an S7.

Mine was an 06 as well and did not come goverened....very strange.

I thought the same thing until I hit it at 145-147 a couple of times. Talking to an ex-saleen employee they were not consistent on the actual setting, some were between 145-155 but he said all of them were unless someone had changed the setting after Saleen set them up.
