Quick Saleen question..

Which can be a problem. Being insured as a regular GT means any accident or total loss of your car will only yield GT $$$. Maybe that's OK, but I would investigate "agreed upon value" for your car thorugh either your insurance or a collector insurance company. if you dont drive your car a a primary vehicle you can get collector car insurance. i have mine insured for less than 900 per year at an agreed upon value of what I purchased it for. It's registerd with Hagerty as a Saleen with pictures to back it all up.

I drive my car as a DD. I provided them (the insurance) all the same information I gave my credit union to show its value and what it was. Frankly, for the price I bought it, even insuring it as a regular GT I'm pretty much covered. Doesn't mean I wouldn't put up a fight with the insurance though.

mine as well is a DD. A few months back I let a friend drive mine and he was in a accident. I just showed my insurance company my saleen book that has my VIN to show it was real and they bought me all new saleen oem parts no questions asked.

Most companies will insure it as a mustang GT, but will back up the Saleen pricing if you have proof. Since mine is barely driven and I have so much put into the car I just insure it with a collectible insurance. Cheaper and easier to deal with if something happens.

In Alberta we have 2 car registered. The G6 is registered as a G6 under model or series.
The GT500 is registered as a ST-16. I will have to ask what the means ie ST-16. Anyone happen to know?
