yea it can be done... but 2 things... that big of a motor, why shooting for such low hp? why not go ***** out stroke it to 521 and kick some *** with it
or, 347, 306 and get that power

what year bbf are you looking at ? the old 460's in the late 60's lincolns push 425 stock .i agree with dimebag if you gonna run bbf goes ***** to the wall , make it a neck breaker .if all you want is a little over 400 hp i would look for a late 60's lincoln mark series 460 like i said they are already about 425hp stock.

they never came with that much, ur thinkin of the 427 fe motors. no the most thse motors came with stock was 375. Now, ur combo completely depends on what ur budget is. There are plenty of options, but seeing as how ur goal is so limited then go with some DOVE, C9 or C8 heads, stock, and put a comp solid roller in it with a stealth or torquer intake on a stock bottom end and be done.

1968 lincold with suicude doors have a 425 hp 460 in them at least all the ones i have seen have the 460 /425 hp sticker on the air cleaner , i know the 427's make good hp but good luck finding one , although i have seen quite a few 429 cj' and scj's for sale lateley , i could be wrong on the lincoln 460's but i am just going on what i have seen ,
another good hp bbf are the 390 hipo and the 390 pi's they make good power ,use a set of 429 heads on them and they are real beast's

ok, listen not one thing you said here was correct, the 385 engine series NEVER came with more than 375 rated at he factory, the ones u saw may have been modded or something but they did not have that power stock. Now the FE motors and the 385 series motors are COMPLETELY different so you couldnt just throw 429 heads on an fe it wont work. unless you ment the 427. but you are right, the 390s are very very good motors, I know cause I own one

your right i have em backwards ,i am like that with my numbers ,i was looking at a 429 cj forsale while i was typeing , i ment 427.i know the 390's are bad @$$ i had a 66 fairlane gt with a 390 pi out of a 64 galaxy police car , that car was flat fast i thought , man i still wish i had that car . no hard feelin's ih8checy ,because we share the same hate for chevy. i tell ya what tho i have seen 1 427 ford in a speed shop for sale when i was like 15 , they wanted 16k for it then it was susposed to have been built by shelby ?

yea no hard feelings stangbanger, its all good. yea man those 427 fe's are so expensive, i saw a sideoiler block the other day just the block for 7500 dollars. Your much better off with the 429/460 for not only power potential but cost. I love them 66 fairlanes, they are tied with my car, 69 torino, for my favorite car ever. If I had the money I would definately put a 385 series motor in one of them and rape chevy's all day, but im still poor. oh and yea chevy sucks.
