Why did I try the Viper? Because he picked the fight. I just wanted to see what I had at the time against it. I think now it will be a different story though. I should be right there with him after this weekend. Not saying I'll beat it, buthe'll definately know I'm there.

TheCherokee was surprisingly quick. We ran them twice and the first run was too close for comfort. At the time I only had the Tune, Intake, exhaust and TB spacer. Now with gears and Lower control arms probably wouldn't be as close. But from a roll of 20mph I got the jump on him and he stayed right on my quarter panel through middle of 3rd. We caught a light and from a stop I got out of him pretty good. Guess the AWD didn't help him that much, and I pulled him through 2nd pretty hard and had 1 1/2 maybe 2 lenghtson him. Looked like he was coming back a little in 3rd but I got off the car because my turn was coming up. Gave him a big thumbs up and he was smiling and gave one back.
I'm going to be taking my car to Irwindale in a few weeks to finally get some real runs with it. Just waiting for the Drag Radials to come in and install the last pieces for what I'm trying to do with the car.
I've got a race in a few months against my Uncle. He's got a 69 Z/28 Camaro that is pretty quick. Has a 402 Cu In SBC with Nitrous. I'm definately down on HP to him, but the car has a real hard time hooking up so I'm hoping to get out on him and hold him off. If he hooks it up though I'm done!!!!

each car has over 100 hp on his "stock 5.0".... the m3 is a mid 13 second car..... am i really the only one that has a problem with this story?

See I think the problem is here that you guys are thinking that these are 5.0's we're talking about. I have a 05 S197 GT that has quite a bit of work done to now. The other car that started this post is a S197 as well. We're definately much quicker then stock 5.0's. This topic started in the 05 forum but was moved here.

You're not the only one. I'm assuming he's talking about an e46 since you're not going to mistake an e36 for an M5.The Mruns low low 13's so I doubt he would "destroy" one. I can see him killing the R/T though...thosearesome heavy pigs. Oh and nice ricermove with thethumbs down.
