Hey man, I had to pass the time some how, lol! I'm just glad I didn't see any po-po. My *** would be in a jail cell right now, .
I'm with you guys, trust me. I paid very close attention to this car the entire time. I watched his shifts, when he pulled, when he fell back, etc. First off, I'm pretty sure he was scared to push his car first off. He would let off as soon as we got upwards of 110 mph, or I pulled, whichever came first. Also, he miss shifted at least 3 times, which resulted in rapeage. When he got it right though, he either pulled, or stayed even. At one point, he pulled hard from my back bumper to my front, then I power shifted and jumped back ahead. Thats a sign of poor driving on his part, imo.
With that said, let me throw a little fuel on the fire, just to get this going.
On paper, that SS is a high 12 second car, and can trap as high as 110 mph, correct? On the other hand, S197s have been known to run high 12s with intake/tune only, way less mods than I have. So, it could be argued that my car is good for a -12.8, and I have already trapped 108 mph, so is it plausible that my car is even with, or even a tick faster than a stock LS3 SS?

Good runs man.
I'd still think that in a vacuum(equal drivers) the LS3 should still pull you a little bit. Really, who knows though?

It will...I think.... I saw it do it tonight. He pulled like a **** all of a sudden for whatever reason, but then fell back just as quick as he pulled. He may of short shifted or lagged too long between shifts. Or maybe he simply went into his power band as I came out of mine, and vice versa. He literally went from my rear bumper to my front bumper in 3 seconds at one point, but then fell right back behind the moment I power shifted. It reminded me of the LS2 C6 that my coworker drives. He will pull hard in certain places, then fall back. I wonder how much power shifting catapults a weaker car ahead of a stronger car that shifts softer. Considering this guy's inconsistent driving, I'm going to go ahead and chalk this one up to a "Win by driver mod." Hell, maybe I'll go test drive one for myself and see what the deal is.

Nice runs...personally...I see no reason why you wouldn't beat one...Maybe it's just me though.

Honestly, after seeing all the times for the new SS, I'm kind of disappointed in their stock performance. I'm sure with a few mods it'll be a whole different animal, but even the LS3 camaros aren't doing as well as I'd thought. I'm actually excited to see the Z28 when it comes out, hopefully that'll live up to the hype.

I honestly believe the Z28 will be what it's supposed to be, one bad MutterFukr. Also, the new Camaro just came back after a pretty long hiatus, so in a sense its the first model or Camaro all over again (sort of). If history repeats itself, the Camaro will continue to improve as the years go by. I'm not overly impressed with the 2010's either, and GM is going to have to step up bigtime if they plan on competing with the future 400 HP GT. Sure, the 2010 SS should mod well, but I think its an assbackwards design. I mean, why make it so heavy, then make up for the weight with 425 horses, instead of making it lighter with 425 horses? The whole "safety and EPA regulations makes it heavy" thing is total BS. It really is. If that theory was true, then the Vette would be a boat too, as well as many others. I thought my S197 was a boat, but when I lined up with this SS last night, I seriously felt tiny. Not trying to be bias or a Ford nuthugger, really I'm not, but GM needs to get back to the drawing board and do better.
