Stkjock vs. 911 Turbo (old school)
So cruising back from the Sunday spot I see a red 911 Turbo whale tail ahead of me. As I pull alongside and see an older guy (50s) behind the wheel, strapped in with shoulder belts, attached to a rollbar. As I pace him a moment or two he never looks over so I figure ehhh he's not game. So for the hell of it I drop to 3rd and punch it. As I whined out 3rd and grab 4th I hear the distinct sound of turbos coming, he comes blowing past me when I let out around 120. So now I see him slow and wait for me... so I'm psyched as I know it's on.
I come alongside again and hear him down shift. We slow to about 45 or 50 and I drop to second, I beep 3x for the start and we are off! I jump out about 1/2 a car on the hit and grab third quickly and pull out a bit further. As I power shift to 4th I'm about a car+ out on him. As we roll into triple digits I hear those turbos coming hard!! About 110 a car pulls into my lane and I have to let off as he blasts by me. No doubt that in the 115-125 area he'd have caught me and left me.
I've seen the car a few times in the past and will look for him again to find out what's done to it.
A fun way to finish off a ehh morning. A buddy got loose and smacked his left rear into a curb on the way out and broke the valve stem. Instant flat, held us up for about an hour until we got going and then I had to leave to go to a brunch.

+1 to the road course. Most Porsche guys I've seen that bother with bars and harnesses usually run AutoX and/or RR.
So it was one of the early turbo Porsches? I've heard the turbos in those were less responsive and had more mass, so they took a little while to spool. Sucks for a drag race on the street, but once you're moving on a road course it doesn't really matter.
