Default First Boss 302 vs 5.0 for me...

I know the difference in strait line performace on the Boss and the 5.0 is pretty similar but I thought I would share.

Was coming on to Route 158 in O'Fallon IL going to work yesterday and just on the other side of the light a white 5.0 came into the right lane at the same time, we started at it a little form a slow roll then hit some traffic at about 70 mph, we got through it at the next light and both crushed it from 30 mph (I started in 2nd), I had a hard time getting into 3rd inititally and he made some ground, I revved all the way to 76-7700 in 3rd and made the ground back up with a clean shift to 4th, revved all the way to almost 7900 in 4th and picked up about a car maybe a little more than half a car, I looked down and we were doing 120-125mph, I immediately thought oh **** and slowed down as did he. We met at another light turning on to the road to go to work and gave a thumbs up and cooled it to the gate. This car is right at home shifting above 7500rpm, I only have 300 miles on it though.....hope I wasn't playing to hard

Modern engines break in in the 1st 50 miles. :P

What's the peak hp rated at in the Boss anyway? Isn't it supposed to be like 6,800 or 7k?

I can't post photo's because I'm at work but that is Inside Line's dyno sheet for the Boss and the 5.0, looks like it increased HP all the way up to 7500-7600rpm.

Nice. Hard to beat the sound of a high rpm V8.

Turned out as expected. More RPMs allows you to stay in each gear longer and your HP increases with RPMs up til your shift.
