Just thought I would brag...
Me and my friends cruised to a car show in Waco. It was me and my friends Cobra, a 1993 GT with a 331 Stroker and a T76 with only 10 lbs of boost making low 600's in hp, and a Mach 1. We also had two crotch rockets with us... a Hyabusa and a YZR1000.
To make a long story short, I didnt really feel like racing but everyone started doing it and I just had to join in. My friend on the YZR1000 had been wanting a peice of my ride for the longest, so when we got a long stretch of highway we went at it. On three honks @ 70 mph in third gear we took off. He jumped a car on me at the get go but I stayed with him. I went through fourth and fifth gear and started pulling him. I hit sixth gear doing 165 mph and we were even again and I was pulling but I looked at my EGT gauge and it was at 900 degrees celsius. All I could think about was a melted piston, so I let out of it. [&o] If only I could have kept in it I would have passed him up.
I will be getting some new pistons sooner or later.
The Busa wanted some, but I wasnt dumb. LOL [8D]

That was the same guy I raced and it wasnt an R1, it was the YZR1000.

It was silver and black at one time. He knows how to paint... so now it is white and black. Looks really good.

Mostly all cars slow down in 6th gear...5th gear should be a much better gear for you, especially with 3.55's. I'm 100% sure you're making far more power in 4th than in 5th actually. You're avoiding the loss of torque from the overdrive gear multiplication. By 6th gear, which has a .5 ratio in our cars, you're just going to hold steady, or actually slow down.
