I'd much rather build my 4l60. Just going to cost a lot more and still probably won't last all that long.

Vids are up...

Nice times!! IMO, redo your trans, a non overdrive trans sucks on the street when you have been use to one that has overdrive!!

yea, I have a c4 and highway crusing blows...

but the old autos are great for racing since they're so simple and easy to build. I think I have about $800 in mine all togeather and it should stand up to around 500tq.

My 3rd and the TH350 3rd has the same ratio, so I pulled my car down into 3rd at 70mph today to see how a 3 speed 350 would feel. It jumped from 2100 RPM to 3K RPM, yeesh..

You can hear it messing up in that one close up vid..

Thanks for all the compliments guys! The track prep and weather conditions played a major role in those ETs. -417' DA is pretty optimal, and being able to pull 1.89, 1.93, and a 1.94 60' on street tires says alot about the track prep. I just wish the damn 4L60 had've shifted correctly on that 12.42 pass so I could've possibly ran a 12.3.

Found a couple good deals already on some built 4L60s. One is trans only, built to hold about 500rwhp for $450, no converter included. The other is about an hour away and more expensive, but its built much better to hold 800+ and comes with a Yank 4000 converter, deep pan, and cooler. The converter has 1500 miles on it, the trans 5k. Guy wants 1200 for the trans or 1500 for both. Really want to go that route...

I have about 400 into my 4r70(auto with electronic o/d) and it's rated to 600hp/tq. Only thing is I did it myself so it kept costs way down.

And it's not like it's easy for an average joe to go figure out. I followed that thread and I was completely lost
