Stone, good kill, all be it expected. I know the typical EllisJuan is a man amongst boys but I still think its appropriate to call your car The Freak.

IMO, my car backs up that article Skater posted. An 01-02 SS can run high 12s assuming an experienced driver AND good air, but thats a rare combo to be honest. My car came stock with a lid, but with that, a tune, and an SLP cat-back, it was running 12.5 at 110. It's faster than your average LS1 (for the mods) but in all honesty most of the Elis Juans you see running are Z28s with 2.73 gearing and GM air boxes, and the older ones don't have an LS6 intake mani or 241 heads.

There are a lot of it is the variations between the 99-00 SS, 01-02 SS, 99-00 Z28, and the 01-02 Z28.....and of course drivers.

Nice kill. Didnt evan smith pull off high 12's with a 99 ls1? My 2.73 geard ls1 stayed door to door with a srt8 300 but we didnt race for very long. I myself think 2.73 gears are pathetic and I cant wait to get some better gears in this bitch.

Thanks man. That run you had sounds about right. Gears make a damn difference for sure. Just make sure your installer knows what he's doing...mine whine like a ****.

I'm not sure if Smith did that or not. I wouldnt doubt it however, I've seen a few 2.73 geared autos run 13.0-13.2 during the summer.

I think the LS1 is a better platform, but I will own another 300C SRT8 before long. I LOVED that car. Pretty decent performance and MAN was it comfortable.
My very first time at the drag strip with any car was in this one and it ran a best of 8.363@86.74 in the 1/8 and 12.85@108.39 stock. I haven't been able to duplicate or best the time but have increased the power. I am a terrible strip driver and can't seem to find the the right combo to hook under power. I agree that the LS car is a better platform to build on. Anytime you put mods on a LS engine car that's shaped like a bullet you are going to get success. Unlike modding a car shaped like a brick **** house.

That only works with 300Cs and Challenger/Charger R/Ts. SRT8 can be completly disabled by holding the ESP button for 6 seconds.

*****, 12.8 bone stock is very impressive! I can totally see how putting more power behind a car of that weight would worsen your ET. I bet she's brutal from a roll though. Wish you lived closer so we could run.

LOL. I don't know about brutal, but for around here she more than holds her own for a big 4 door. I wish I could run. It would be the most action I would have seen in several months.

You're right it was a 99... (GMHTP 7/99), then in the clip I posted he ran 12.9 with a 2001 SS. I actually just had a brief email conversation with Evan yesterday because I was curious about the DA the day they ran the SS/Bullitt. Unfortunately that data is long lost but if it helps any one of the best drivers around only managed a 13.91 @ 98.5mph out of the Bullitt.

I've always wished I was a better driver...for comparison mine went 8.646 @ 85.35 and 13.19 @ 108.59 bone stock on a 2.152 60ft. If its one thing that SRT8s are surprisingly good at it's getting out of the hole. I unfortunately bog on almost every launch and hit the rev limiter on the 1 to 2 shift and the 2 to 3 that run...a great driver could have done amazing things that day.

My buddy with his Charger SRT8 (Predator Tune, CAI) vs me (LS6 Cam, stock tune, lid/fra) I managed a
2.041 - 8.422 @ 86.19 and 12.889 @ 110.17 vs his
1.971 - 8.338 @ 86.71 and 12.876 @ 108.83

Of course he just added a blower and went 12.5 @ 113 (working on tuning and traction still)... so I'm pretty much screwed against him. lol

I definately need to get wider/stickier tires. I don't have a problem bogging, I have problem blowing the tires off even with the TC on. LOL. Not that the TC matters now because I guess it got tired of of always fighting for traction that it just freaking quit. I would like to get some one that could drive to try to see what they could do with it, but with my luck they'd crash and I'd be SOL.
