2008 GT vs 2013 v6

This is my dads car (Z28TH1S on here). Sure ya'll have seen this vid. At this time the car had intake/tune/mufflers/3.73s/ds/tires. Little more than 'basic' boltons, but still very few mods considering the times. The car also trapped 106 the same day.

Thats awesome, looks like he is getting it done with the power hes got.
My point is, do the EXACT same mods on a 3v and I bet it runs a bit quicker assuming a good driver.
You also have to look at it from a price perspective...its not like those new 3.7 v6s are cheap.

Does that thing have drag wheels/ skinnies on it?

That is my car. Yes, it does have drag wheels and skinnies on it. They are 17x4.5 and 17x9.5 Race Star's with a set of 26x11.5x17 MT ET Street bias ply tires on the rear.
Mod for mod the 3.7 versus the 3V would be interesting with a slight advantage going to the 3V.
My '11 V6 sticker was $23,200 and with X-plan and a $500 rebate I got it for $21,700 back in October of 2010.
The new 3.7 has 305 horsepower and is rated at 29 highway with the stick shift (31 with automatic). Not a bad package for the price and they respond well to mods too!

The 3-7 has proven to hold 550rwhp.... only for about 10k hard miles, but it held it. Cant say it was cheap getting there, custom e85 system, procharger, etc. Had a wristpin finally let go.
The same fella is building another one, forged rods/pistons etc, this time with a turbo. Supposedly shooting for 800ish hp/tq, still on the stock block. We'll see.
And like dad said, $22.5k out the door for 32mpg highway(proven), 13.78 @ 102 stock, and (imo of course) sexy looks.... not too bad of deal!

No doubt, awesome cars.
Not a bad price at all really for what you get. The 4.6 3v seems to only have the slightest advantage on the 3.7.....so slight its not even worth mentioning actually lol.
It really come down to what you want....a lot of people are against buying a v6 mustang but with that kind of power and gas mileage its a great car.

Trust me bro, I get this Ford/mustang thing honest.... my dad (z28th1s) has had probably 50ish foxbodys, 4-5 termis, NE cobra, procharged '11 gt, etc. I dont have that kinda track record, but neither of us would EVER own a v6 mustang... before 2011. He got his as a dd for his wife, now its his dd. I was looking at an '04 vert gt, but the bank wouldnt finance it after my trade-in, but they would the '12. Funny how things work out
Again, I really didnt mean to de-rail your thread young gun. The 3v is a good motor, and just cause these 6's are making noise now doesn't take away from the v8 s197's, or any other car for that matter. We're just another conversation piece.
