More slip, less dump. Do that with the clutch, you'll have even more fun!

Good job getting out there and having a blast! You have a great platform to start modding. Like Greddy said, it gets out of control quickly!

I was trying to slip the clutch but I wouldn't be surprised if I was dumping it with how excited I was. I'm sure my current 215/70/15's didn't help much either.

Before Friday night I was planning on doing shocks/struts, springs, full length subframe connectors, rear lca's, and wheels/tires. But now I'm not sure if I should do that or gears(3.73), full length subframe connectors, rear lca's, and wheels/tires.

Gears and tires first, or just do it all at once. You have a good mod list there to start with. And congrats on your first outing. It can only get better now lol. Good luck and enjoy the ride to the poor house. Or dog house if your not alone.

Honestly, I'd suggest all of the above.

When my '89 LX was a stocker, I eventually got it down to a 1.69 60-foot time on BFG drag radials and UPR suspension. That was with only 236hp!

I can help you out with all of those parts at www.uprproducts.com

Thats how I took it... I started out with a slow *** LT1 car myself, I don't think anyone here thinks he shouldn't have posted up....

Nice work OP.

Its just as much fun making a 15 second car run 14s with nothing more than driver skill and a few racer tricks as it is making a slow high 12 second GTO run faster. You can hone your skills in either. Yep I called someone slow that time.lol

Sounds like OP had more fun his first time out than I did.

Something unsatisfying about a modified time half a second slower than you ought to be when stock that ruins a night.

True, but practice makes perfect.
