Default Broke into the 11's this weekend!

Hey Guys,

Yesterday there was an Index race.
These were the classes :

1; 7 - 11.4999
2. 11.5 - 12.499
3. 12.5 - 13.999
4. 14 - 15.999

Wanted to go for Index 3; Added NSR 127200 cams and an Intake Manifold. Before that car ran a best of 12.82 and an average of 12.9x . After cams and intake, the best i could do was 13.1x . Needless to say i was dissapointed (still am, and still working of figuring out why).

Still wanted to compete so i decided to add a shot of nitrous. Added a 100shot. Ran a few passes and got 12.1-12.3 . Too quick for that index. Decided to leave the 100shot and just limit the RPM (6475RPM). Pulled it back to 6275RPM. To see if we could add a few tenths so i could dial in for the 12.5 - 13.999 class. ... And what happens next... 11.927 ET @ 189km/h !!! Wasn't even gunning for 11's...

In any case after i saw that, i decided to just compete and dial in for the 11.5 - 12.499.
It was knockouts from the start up until the semi finals. Ended up against a built, track RX7. I lost in the first round (time slip attached, i'm AD11). Tree'd him from the start, had a not so great 60ft but kept ahead untill atleast 350m... and then he caught me just before the finish.

Overall not dissapointed,.. had nothing but great reaction times all weekend.. most of them sub 0.1 . Didn't red light at all. Now to just figure out whats going on with my N/A tune and to reach 12.6x N/A!

awesome! sucks you were knocked out so soon but nice getting that 11 when you weren't even trying. Plus it shows promise, since your car responded so well to a 100 shot with short shifts, you know nothings hurt with the engine, so thats a step in the right direction.

Nice run Mellow! I'd leave that car just like it is.

Congrats on breaking into the 11s! Can wait to see an all out run on the spray.

Are there any nitrous guys on here?
I run my nitrous using a 93 octane nitrous tune from brenspeed for a 100shot.
I actually use MS109 VP since there is no 93 octane available here.
Also, i have a kenne bell boost a pump installed but have never had to use it for nitrous.
Any time i activate it even at the lowest setting the car runs really rich.

I adjust the tune to run 4% richer than originally from brenspeed. Which as ive seen leans out a bit at high rpm.

Question i had was. i want to try the 125 and 150shot now. However no tuners (bama, brenspeed etc) are willing to make me an email tune for that big of a shot.

Can i use my 100shot tune (with MS109 fuel) to try the 125shot? i was thinking of adding more fuel, perhaps 6%,... and leaving the timing as is. And for the 150shot, adding more fuel (6 - 8 %) and may retarding the timing (global spark etc)

I would be super happy if i could make it to mid 11's with my current setup...
Also, maybe if one of you guys know a mustang shop with nitrous speciality..
brenspeed and most guys dont want anything to do with it anymore... (all about superchargers etc..)

If you have a way to reduce timing then in theory you should be able to run the bigger shot. I can only assume your running a dry shot buy the way your talking about adding fuel via tune vs. changing out the fuel nozzle.. If it's a wet shot just put the correct fuel nozzle in and have at it. I'd run the highest octane race fuel possible for this experiment.

ms109 will support the power for sure. Like blue said, pull 1 additional degree for each 25horse. Then watch the afr(I'm assuming you've got a wideband). One thing about ms109 is it's oxygenated fuel so you cant just dump it into a car that's tuned for normal fuel/race gas as it'll run leaner. But sounds like it's still ok if it's running rich, just try and keep the afr's in the 11's so you're on the safe side.

LOL, I hate it when my car runs faster when I'm trying to slow it down.

Congrats on that 11, great job.
