cheap and effective tuning for fox
im getting an 86 mustang. im dont kno that much about suspension. ive only glanced at it. honestly i was just going to get a kit to lower and level it, but i started to look around for a while and i really want the car to handle. ive been looking at prices tho and it scares me. i want to replace coils and shocks, but is there anything else i can get that would make the car more stable and handle really good? and do i really need to replace the control arms? or can i just leave the stock ones on for now?

your control arms will affect the handling of your car almost as much as the springs. They are critical to help control rear axle travel. It is strongly suggested that you run adjustable type upper control arm, so you can set your pinion angle back to where it belongs. Also, a good quality lower control arm is required. I recommend the Maximum Motorsports Heavy Duty control arms.
As for springs, H&R makes an excellent set of springs. Thier SS springs will improve your handling, as well as lower the car a bit. I have used Eibach springs before, and they tend to sag, so I do not recommend them (they also rode like ***). For shocks, I personally run Strange 10 way adjustable shocks/struts. I like them, but they are a bit pricey(ish). I have heard great results from the adjustable Tokico Illuminas however.
There is my advice... take it if you want. I can assure you that its not just alot of hot air. I have been through many different components in my car, and I have finally found a setup that i'm actually happy with.
