Default 03 cobra?

This is probably a dumb question but can you mix 50/50 coolant in the intercooler? What brand of coolant do you guys use?

It does take a 50/50 mixture of water and coolant for the resivoir. My cobra uses the Gold colored, not green or orange, coolant that is offered by Ford Motorcraft. You can probably get it from any Ford dealership. I wouldn't use any other coolant, but I did add a bottle of Royal Purple Ice to the radiator and intercooler resivoir. Did you get a new heat exchanger?

Personally, there are certain things I wont use unless they are from Ford, the coolant being one of them. I know Quaker State came out with a coolant under their "Q" line, but I'm not sure how effective it is. If your cooling system is a priority, like most, then I would start off by getting an aftermarket heat exchanger. Fluidyne, LFP, and AFCO make great units. I got the AFCO Pro series from RPMOUTLET.COM, $299, because it covers the entire opening of the front bumper. It's a simple bolt on that is pretty much needed if you are going to put a smaller pulley on your ride because it will create ALOT of heat under the hood. For easy bolt ons, start off with an intake ($140 and up), catback (at least $300), and X/H pipe ($150 for off road). When ready, you can buy a smaller pulley, but you will need a tuner and recommended S/C belt tensioner. So really, pulley, tuner, and tensioner, around $500. Check Ebay. I got a Borla Stinger CB for $500 new when they go for around $700. Hope that helps.

I saw the Fluidyne for $299 from Brothers Performance, but you might be able to find it cheaper.

Installing the AFCO PRO is a snap. No modifications have to be done to the car. I read that some modifications are necessary to install a Fluidyne.
