Default Cobra Buying Tips?

Im looking at investing in either a 96-97 or 03-04 cobra. I was wondering if anybody had any tips about them that you learned from owning one, that could help when im purchasing mine, maybe something i should look for? Thanks -chip

03-04 hands down if you can afford it. The internals are forged, the heads flow, and the drivetrain is set up to handle a lot of horsepower. It also comes with an IRS which rides better if your more into creature comforts. The 97-98 cobra's only perk is an extremely strong block and solid axle (both only really important if super-modding is what your aiming for).

03 cobra is a superior car in everyway, about 400-425 hp stock is what i read in mm&ff, they run 20-25K

96-98 cobras ( what i have) is a much cheaper route, 305 hp and run about 6-10k, weak tranny though

Either car pack a ton of bang for your buck, however 03 if you can afford it!

I've got a 97, and I love it. However, I obviously would have gotten a 03/04 if i wasnt in college and actually had some money. I paid about 10, and terminators are going for about 25, so with the extra 15, I could terminate a terminator. (But I also could buy a civic for 2 grand for the extra 23 could terminate a terminator, but theat would just be gay.) Just whatever you do, make sure its got 32 valves.

I would go with the 03/04 as well. They are more treasured in the mustang world. BUT if you don't care to much about that just get the cheapest cobra and just put all the money you save back into the motor.

I'm not crazy about convertibles myself, but not because of the look..its just easy access to anyone who wants in, especially if you've got a deck and system.

I do have to say though the 03-04 mystichromes look amazing as convertibles.

Oh, and 27k sounds like ALOT, even for a anniv. Personally I'd get one from a private owner and not a "stealership".
