Default 98 Cobra 5 speed. What gears?

I have a 98 5 speed Cobra. Want more aggressive gears, I was thinking of getting 3.73's. Then I started searching and alot of people recommend 3.90's. Which should I get? I want good acceleration but don't want high rpm's while cruising on the high way, also want something street-able.

Thanks

4.10s, B head motors love high RPM, I would even go 4.30.

well im one of a few that dont care for 4.10s....i hated shifting so much plus i live in a city with stop signs and stop lights every 100ft lol...the 4.10s really did open it up i just have 3.73 in my new car and its much more enjoyable to me lol

if you asked 10 people about gears your going to get 10 different answers. I had 4.10's and switched to 4.30's and love them. I turn 3k @ 75 on the highway

I've had 3.73s and 4.10s in my old `98 C. 3.73s were a noticable increase in performance, but the 4.10s were just stupid fun. Im really really tempted to run 4.30s in this car... havent decided. I know 4.10s are a failsafe gear for me, I just dont want to run into trap speed issues down the line when I up the power (ie 100shot)

BraMas, opinions mr. 430 guy?? lol sway me into a decision

Just going by what I've read and heard on the fourms here..

410's if staying N/A

373's if your going to supercharge it later.

This is why I like 3.90 gears .... really gives you options both ways IMHO

Actually if you are going to put a centrifugal supercharger on a 4V you really want 4.10's or even 4.30. Higher gears are ok with a roots style blower. N/A or not I would go with the 4.10's and about any performance shop will tell you the same. 4V's lack low end power so the 4.10's help make up for it. I put 3.73's in my 98 Cobra only because I came across a good deal on the gears. Bottom line 4.10 is what I recommend.

I understand the whole concept and had 4.10s in my last 98 cobra... What Im tryna get from BraMas is the difference he noticed between the 4.10s and 4.30s
