Just reading through this months 5.0 Mustang and Fast Fords, and came across an article talking about the 20th anniversary of the SHO. Looks like the 2010 model will be getting the 3.5l tt'd ecoboost motor.
AWD, 6spd shifttronic trans. with "torque-steer management", 365hp, any guesses on what they might run? Not sure of the weight, but I imagine they're right hefty. I say 13.3-13.7's........

ill agree with that time. i say it will be a great race for a G8, RT (maybe srt8), ctsv (LS2) etc. but you know with tires, and boost tune, it will see low 12's imo

Depends on their weight and how efficient the drivetrain will be as far as gearing and how much power makes it to the wheels, but I'd say mid to high 13s stock. I'm sure a tune will set them off quite nicely though. Should be interesting for sure.

If they use the current chassis, it will weigh 3640 lbs. which is pretty light when put up agaisnt the G8, SRT8 Charger, and other performance sedans.
Since it's a SHO, I'm sure SVT will take good care in making the drive train super efficient. I'm going to say a 13.2 - 13.4 1/4 mile.

It will weight more then 3640. The current base weight is 3750 and that's without AWD and the TT setup. I'd guess it will weight a bit more then two tons.

The big Taurus surges forward effortlessly, delivering what you'd expect given the V6's power curves and the 4,368 pounds that have to be motivated.
"The new Taurus SHO driveline combines a six-speed 6F55 SelectShift transmission with standard torque-sensing all-wheel-drive. The six-speed transmission offers a wide array of gears to enable quick acceleration, yet comfortable high-speed cruising, through a 2.77 to 1 final drive ratio. SelectShift provides conventional automatic operation or a manual shift mode that gives the driver complete control via paddle shifters. For performance-minded drivers, paddle controls allow "rev-match" downshifts and will hold manually selected gears for precise control"
"For the discriminating automotive enthusiast, Taurus SHO offers an available SHO Performance Package consisting of upgraded brake pads, recalibrated power-assisted steering for even more responsiveness, a "Sport Mode" setting for the standard AdvanceTrac Electronic Stability Control and a shorter 3.16 to 1 final drive ratio for faster acceleration. Summer-compound 20-inch Goodyear Eagle F1 performance tires on premium painted wheels also are included."
IDK 'bout that gearing....... Seems like a real nice car ford has come out with. Looks kinda sporty, but still unsuspecting. Starts @ $37k........ Id have to wait a couple years for that price to come down.....

Well the bad news is it's still an ugly ass taurus. It'll probably be about as popular as the maruder was. The good news is those turbos. If the ecoboost is a stout powerplant that could be a nasty set-up with a turbo swap.

I've never actually raced but according to my dyno numbers. I should run 8s on street tires.
