Smile 5.0L 4V Coyote V8 CONFIRMED!!!! What will it run?

Ford has confirmed that we will find the cammer 5.0 in the Mustang GT in 2010(Probably as a 2011 model). Suppose to have over 400hp and over 400tq. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/18/r...ote-v8-coming/

What do you think it will be capable of running. I say a good driver with street tires should get it down to the mid 12's at 112mph. I'm hoping they throw a 6 speed in the thing while they are at it.

I am going to say high 12's depending on how much the car will actually weigh maybe low 13s.

I agree. High 12s low 13s. It should be extremely competive with the new camaro. Maybe even slightly faster due to a better power to weight ratio and a solid rear axle.

Should be able to easily break into the 12's if weight remains close to what it currently is. I say 12.7-12.8@110.

This definately puts me in a 2011 GT with Track Pack and 5.0. Wasn't feeling the new styling on the rear, but this puts it in Camaro killer territory.

Well I think it will be very similar to the LS3 Camaro if not faster. Magazines like Hot Rod have already clocked high 12's in the Camaro. I don't see why a great driver with alot of seat time can't run closer to mid 12's in the 4v.

Maro's already ran 112, I'd say a 5.0 4v could do that.

I haven't seen the Camaro post better than 110 stock, but agree that it can and will, and that 400+ hp in a 3.73 geared S197 4V can and should as well.

I think it should be right there with the new maro as well, maybe a tick or two faster. Damn, I'd love to get my hands on one.

Yea I'd like something like that as well but I'm seriouslly thinking about getting an 09. The deals on Left over GTs should be insane this fall with the economy and the new model coming out. Think I'm going to try to get one for 20 grand or under.

saw this on SVTP as well. Bout time they admit it! is it THE CAMMER? i thought this motor wasnt related to the cammer motor. this paired with a 6 speed and some tires will haul serious butt. i hear the block is aluminum is well so it may be lighter, who knows.
