I have a 2008 Charger R/T AWD, bone stock. They typically run low 14's, high 13's occasionally.
The 95 5.0 a kid just got at the high school, it's got a brownish top to it (it's a vert). He thinks his 5.0 is hott ****.
He just ordered
3.73 gears
Headers
Wheels
He said it has a E303 cam in it, but I don't hear anything when it's idling. When he gets those mods installed, will I still be able to out run him? If he had a E303 cam installed I would be able to tell, right? He said the guy that sold it to him told him it had a E303 cam. It's a 95 5.0 with 73k miles, he got it 4.5k. It's in pretty good shape. He kept telling me the E303 was a real "cheap" cam and you just can't tell it because I guess it's just really mild. I don't know anything about the cam, so all info would be appreciated.
What do you think happens if we run em?

If it had a E cam, you would know it for sure. They are "mild" as far as aftermarket cams go,
but they sound great. Also E cams and SN95 302's dont get along well w/o a nice tune. What is it with every other 5.0 owner saying that the previous owner put a cam it in?
You should beat him unless he has a decent amount of properly selected bolt-ons. If I understood it correctly, he just got it.... It will take awhile to get used to. I can't see him coming anywhere close to winning.
P.S. "We" call 'em tan tops around here
A personal favorite just for kicks: "E303 + full bolt-ons"
where in the US do you live, skillz? most of the 5.7L sedans ive seen are capable of getting into the 13s, but they are more commonly in the 14s and your AWD model is going to be slower.

Eastern Kentucky. I was just trying to be fair, I have seen a few AWD 5.7's run 13.70ish bone stock. I was just trying to post what most people on here call the cars, if I try to say it's a 13 second car everybody on here calls me a fanboy.

You should give him a pretty good beating, and you would know if he had a cam in it
The sn95's barely run with an aftermarket cam without a tune.....trust me I know
Even though he weighs less you still have a good 100hp over him
Alrighty, that's what I was thinking. He isn't going to drive it, he wants to let his friend "bryan" drive it because he just learned to drive a 5 spd. It's a sharp car. He kept coming up to me to day saying "I bet I can beat you when I get all this installed" I was like, alright man.

wow...ive not seen an AWD 5.7 car run that fast stock. i wouldnt say that its not possible, but thats pretty damn quick...i would guess that those people have alot of track experience and seat time to run those numbers. i dont see the average joe running 13.70s in a stock awd rt.
I think your car will handle him just fine, Skillz. He may stay beside you at first, but once you guys get up some speed (like 50-60 mph) you should start pulling away handedly. Over 100 mph, you ought to put bus lengths on him man. Most of the stock/very lightly modded 5.0s I've seen at the track have been high 14s low 15 second cars with low traps. If he ever does get some serious mods like heads, cam, spray, etc... he will probably return the favor.
