96 Cobra Vs 06 Cobalt SS/SC
Got a race lined up with my cousin. He has a 1996 Cobra. His mods are ORX, Magnapack Cat-back, intake, Nitto 555R drag radials, lowered 2 inches. His car has 80k miles on a rebuilt (stock specs) engine. His track runs so far have been consistent 13.6 at 103-104 mph, with a glory pass or two that were a tenth and a mile mph quicker. His car isn't the easiest to pilot. Trust me, its rough around the edges and shifting it is like trying to shift a G-Damned freight train. We have both agreed that his trans needs to be replaced sooner than later. His 60s stay around 2.1 seconds. Stock gears in that year Cobra equals no bueno. 4.10s, and some other things are in this Cobra's near future, don't worry.
The contender of course is my Balt. Mods are 2.8 pulley, 60lb fuel injectors, custom dyno tuned using HPT, ZZP stage 1 heat exchanger, still running the stock HE as well, Injen intake, ZZP 3 Inch catted downpipe into 2.5 inch stock exhaust with a magnaflow muffler welded in. My clutch slips like a sombich, but I can control it pretty well. Rolls are not an issue for my clutch, nor is traction. I haven't ran my car since the temps have dropped below 75 degrees, but my car averages 13.6-13.8 at 103-104 mph in those warmer temps. Since we have dropped down into the 30s, my car feels like it has gained 20 hp, literally. I run very consistent 2.1 60s at the track, but the street and my car have a major problem with each other, so although I'll give him a dig, it'll most likely result in me 3 cars back right off the bat. Plan is to go from a 40 roll, and maybe a couple of other runs just to see what's up. Speculations since its pretty dead in the racing world right now? Vids will be up this week.

I'm thinking it'll be even too up to that point too. The top end is definitely where the mystery lies. We'll shut it down at 125 mph regardless. I've got the powerband, he has the displacement and superior torque. Aero is prolly in his favor as well.

Stone I'm still convinced your launches are giving lower than capable trap speeds.

I'm going to say that I hope the Cobalt can win, otherwise, I don't want to get the '06 I'm looking at trading for. lol jk. But, if I do get it, we're going to be twins as far as mods go, Stone. Mine will just be black instead of red.
