That's too easy... but you have to skip past the magazine numbers and go do some research.

1. 03 Cobra - Curb 36xxlbs - 360rwhp
2. C5 Corvette - Curb 32xxlbs - 300rwhp
3. WS6 Trans Am - Curb 34xxlbs - 300rwhp
4. Charger SRT8 - Curb 4xxxlbs - 360rwhp
5. 05 GTO - Curb 37xxlbs - 340rwhp

All numbers 'approximate' as they all vary... but the weight and the fact that the other cars aren't rated accurately is what makes the 400hp GTO run with the cars having '100hp less'.

And again i agree the termi Cobra is #1 and that the mach and 99-01 cobra are last... But i dont know about the rest, based on weight and estimated hp i would prob say

hmm...ive taken an charger srt-8 bone stock in my mach......and charger srt-8's only come in auto.....

Ford announced after production of the 2003 Cobra, that those cars were indeed underrated from the factory, and actuall made 425 HP adn 425 TQ. People were dynoiing 360 RWHP on the low end, some dynoing 370-380 RWHP bone stock.

They weigh 3650 from the factory, give or take a few pounds.

Terminators can easily run 12's stock with a decent driver. Hell, I did on my 3rd pass ever at a track in my first manual car with no traction.

A Base C5 Vette will run low 13's with a decent driver, and a great driver run really high 12's, but won't trap what a Terminator traps.

The GTO's are heavy, and make about 340ish RWHP stock in a 3850+ lb car.

I figured you guys would give the Mach more credit by now. Every car in that list is a drivers race with the 03 Cobra being the exception. The 03 Cobra needs to be compared to a totally different list of cars, imo.

Weight, gearing, how consistent the power is and so on.

Horsepower numbers compared to weight are a good way to ballpark a car's performance, but the devil is in the details. Two cars both making 300hp may make that 300 hp very different on a dyno. One of them may only make 300hp for less than 1,000 rpms, while the other makes that same 300hp over the spread of 2,500 rpms. I'm guessing the Cobra is faster with less power because it makes its power "longer" in the curve.

The Mach is pretty much a drivers race with all of the other vehicles, minus the Terminator.

When you really think about it, the Mach is probably the 2nd-3rd fastest car on that lilst.

I'm suprised the Vette isn't getting any love. For every Cobra that ran a 12.8 there is 10 that ran a 13.5. Same can be said for the vette. And I looked up a few old magazine Corvette vs Cobra articles and found them to be pretty interesting. I love the Cobra as much as the next guy but.......

While I agree that a stock Mach is pretty much drivers race with most of those stock cars. I still think that if you had to give the edge to someone, the SRT-8, LS2 Goat, C5 Vette and LS1 F-Body would get the edge over the Mach because all four cars have run 12's in stock form in an experienced drivers hands. I believe the fastest a stock Mach has gone is 13.1x. Correct me if I'm wrong.
