Default 05-09GT 1/4mi. CAI, UDP, 4.10's, DRs Normal times?

Just curious as to the normal times with these mods. CAI, UDP's, 4.10's, and Drag Radials.
I'm sure some of you have had close to these mods at some point at time with drag radials and can tell me normal times.

I know what my times were but I'm curious as to what
most runs would be.

There's a thread going on where a guy said he ran a 12.9 with these mods.
He thinks he can take a new Camaro SS on the street because he is reading the magazines are saying the SS will run a 13.0.
I also don't think he is taking into consideration both the drivers of the magazine articles, and the fact that his car has DR's slapped on them.

I just don't see him beating a new SS on the street with those mods. Especially if you take away the DR's lol.

I could see an S197 GT with those mods running a 12.9... As for racing a newer Camaro SS on the street, anything could happen. I think the SS should win (I'm guessing they average faster than 12.9) but that won't always happen.

People have run faster than that with less mods here. But I suppose a high 12 might be "average" with those types of mods.

Yeah I did not really doubt his times.
I just had serious trouble seeing him beating a new SS with equal drivers.
Especially if the SS had DR's slapped on as well.

Given those factors were in place...
what are your visions on the outcome lol?

I just think he would be in for a serious disappointment in that case.

I watch new SS cars running 13s all the time here... a few local guys have posted 12.8 ~ 12.9 bone stock but for the most part I see low 13s from the manuals when I hang out at the track and watch for Test & Tune.

So you think he could take a SS with equal drivers and him having no DR's on?
He claims he ran a 12.9.. but then again he was sporting the Drag Radials.

Wow if so I'd be way wrong in my thoughts.
I have actually not heard of an 05-09GT taking a new SS with just those mods and good drivers behind the wheel.

I dont think its been mentioned, but you gotta consider the "type" of SS your buddy runs into. I personally, with my measly sixxer, would love to play around with an auto SS, with the L99 (I think thats it). I would lose, but not by a whole helluva lot.

IMO average is very low 13s as not everyone can drive. I've seen mid 12s with those mods but also mid 13s.

On the track I can most definitely see the mustang winning over a stock SS with street tires but on the street I see a lose. You cannot just take ET into account. Conditions, driver and tires being equal the SS will trap several MPH higher showing its HP advantage.

From a dig on the street I can see the mustang jumping out ahead but the camaro will def reel him in top end. From a roll the camaro will win. This is an LS3 camaro I refer to not the L99

well there is power advantage then there is gearing advantage, even on the street gearing can make a big difference.

I think he'll be close, I had the same mods on my '07 + CMDPs. I was pretty sure I could take/match a new camaro. Hell, i ran a 13.5@102 at my track with those mods, saw a challenger SRT-8 there last time running 14.1@99mph. stock GT-500s are typically high 13s here.

So yes given his 12.9(a few people have done that CAI+tune + 0-negative DA, stock 3.55 gears only), I dont see a problem with him taking most anyone with a stock 2010+ Camaro SS.. he'd have to line up against a good driver to make it even or for the camaro to pull on him at all a better driver.

I ran 13.0 at 108 pretty regularly in my 09 S197 with a CAI, UDPs, 4.10s, and a tune. I never could crack that 12.9 for some reason. I was doing it on a 2.0 60'. With DRs, that car would've been running 12.7 without any issue. As far as the SS goes, I ran two on the street at different times, one from a roll, and one from a dig. I did manage to pull both of them, but for all I know it simply came down to the driver mod considering the SS has a decent amount more top end than a 3V.
