dr's dr's dr's!
alright fella's. my 555r's are worn to nuthin, got about 12k miles and a couple track visits out of them tho. I'm in need for new ones, and am really considering picking up a set of toyo r888's. they're technically a road race tire, but I hear they hook up a tad better than the nitto's, and wear about the same. plus when i treck down to mustang week this summer i'd like to try autocrossing once, just to see how it is, and these would be much better at that and normal street driving. anyone know people with a set of these or had them yourselves? just would like more opinions.
aaaand to keep this "on topic", what do you think my times would be with either another set of 555r's or r888's, and a set of blower cams, on motor.

I honestly think you'll stay about where you're at with only the tires being changed. That is of course if they hook like a drag radial. Blower cams on motor....you'll pick up a couple tenths and some mph, but should be minimal with small cams like that.
PD, I think DRs would just **** you off.

I really liked them, i'm just looking for something that'll hook just a tad better. the 555r's like i said got good mileage, and are awesome in rain, even when wet i never noticed a difference in driveability compared to regular street tires, even going 70 on the highway when it's pooring.

I got like 13k miles out of my last pair, with a bunch of track visit's.
Don't believe all this bull**** about them only lasting 5,000 miles. Don't smoke them like you have 600hp when at the track, and keep the pressure up on the street and your fine.
and when there new/ish they still do fine in the rain too.

I have slicks i'll be using at the track now, which is kinda why i want the r888's so i have a good street tire thats good at the corners and still provides decent traction.
but damnit 302 you're throwing another tire into the mix now lol.
