Stock 09 GT vs EVO?
Hello all, i have a 2009 GT that is completely stock from looks to performance. My friend has a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, I believe that its all stock besides the wing and some decals. Maybe a little bit of a ricer but whatever. If we were to race who do you think would win? I know my car has a little more power and a lot more torque but those EVO's are pretty quick too. Also, mines a 5 spd and his is automatic. Thanks

Evo would win. AWD on the Evo alone already gives it an advantage.
Keep in mind that you're also comparing a $25k sports car to a $35k purpose built sports sedan.

You will not win, don't embarrass yourself and your ride, the stock GT is not that quick, a tune and a cai system makes a big difference, even then he would probably take you.

Their top end pull isnt too impressive with the AWD. The fastest stock evo on dragtimes was 13.2x @ 101.
Fastest S197 was 13.2 @ 104. The mustang will have the better top-end
Don't know why you would say not to embarrass himself. Did you run into a modded one?

You say automatic EVO.. the MR version has 6 speed paddle shifter. GSR is manual.
They weight less than the mustang GT, 3200lb, 290hp and 300tq. The GT is 200-300 lbs heavier, has 10 more hp and 15 more torque. He has AWD. I think he definitely win. Get an intake and tune and you'll probably barely win with great shifting
I'm just surprised they decided to go with LESS power than the previous EVO's...but they also added all kinds of electronic stuff to improve handling. They'd be insane with another 30-40 hp. But that's why you just turn the boost up!
