Cam, what will it do?

Cam, what will it do?
Getting a baby cam put in Wed. It's a high lift cam at .61/64, 218/235 118 lsa...so it'll idle very smooth, barely noticeable. It's mostly a low end, mid range TQ cam. Looking at 25rwhp and 35 rwtq average gain, but it makes power all the way across, not just high peak gains. Going with high lift springs and hardened pushrods to make sure it stays together. Also going to be dyno tuned. Only potential drawback is that I put my stock catback back on. Just got sick of not being able to hear myself think. I honestly feel no difference in power. She still kicks the rear end out on the 1-2 shift, just quieter.
So what do you guys think it will put down on the dyno?
What will it gain at the track (current numbers in sig).
And how do you guys think it will do against Greddy's Cobra? We are lining up some runs for July when he rolls through on his way to Mustang week at Myrtle..

i should have my ported blower on by then, i'm hoping anyways since it's black and would look better at the car show lol. if not, we're gonna have some great races! (my buddy's gonna be pissed right off when i show him our vid and you do just as good, if not better than his h/c/i t/a lol).
but anyways, i forsee a high 11 at about 117, IF you put a decent tire on it. on street tires i'm gonna say not much better et's just better traps, depending on how good you can launch her.

I can hold the same high 1.8 60s on street tires. Depends on how it acts once I roll out and go WOT. Dammit, I was hoping to catch you before you ported that blower, lol. Pretty safe to say I should get pulled. Should still be some tight runs from a dig up to a point though.
So can I say I'm "cam only" after Wed?

I might not throw it on stone, depends if I get a Saturday or Sunday between now and July where I have no plans and my girlfriend works all day. If not, no biggie. I will however get my tune more dialed in by then. Right now it's super rich, at wot it's between 10.0-10.5, I'd like it to stay right around 11.5. Actually ya know what, I'll just plan on keeping the stocker, I have a few locals wanting to race me before the ported blower anyways.

Also, If we do a dig you will demolish me. I'm not gonna have room to bring the slicks, and I tried launching off the 2-step last night on my kdw's and it was a complete smoke show. I'm sure I'll do better just easing into first, but If you can do 1.8 60's you'll get me from a dig for sure.

Phew! It'll be a much better match up unported. But by all means get 'er done if you get a chance! I'll take no shame in that loss
Well, those 1.8s are on a pretty decent track. The street requires extreme babying, but once I get through 1st its on.
I kind of think if you idle into it from a dig, we're going to be in the same boat for traction, cept mine is much easier to control only having to work a gas pedal, lol. If you're wanting to hit the track too, then I agree you should fall back with those street tires. Then again, I ran my friend the other day at the track that has a Cobra identical to yours, only with LTs, on street tires, and although I pulled a 1.89 to his 2.0, he still got even with me by 500' or so and was a tenth and 1mph ahead by the 1/8th and 2 tenths/2 mph ahead by the 1/4. So he gained that car back AND put me about a 1/2 car behind him.
I'm excited to see how it turns out. Going to be an adrenaline rush regardless of the outcome.

Yes I can't wait! I'm mostly just excited to finally get to race the legendary stone . If you know anyone local in the 550-600whp range that's race worthy tcstanger is looking. He'll have his Ysi on so hopefully he'll clear 600 on pump gas, that's if he can get a tune squeezed in by then tho.

Might be able to line something up. Got a 650 rwhp 98 Cobra nearby as well as a friend of mine that owns Fastlane that has a few nasty rides. Whether or not they'd be willing to street race is unknown. I'll def push them up though!
PD is sitting on a nasty SRT that should be making well North of 500 whp. He's about 2.5 hours up the road....hint-hint PD.
Lol at legendary Stone
