Default 87-96 Ford Bronco 5.8

Are those motors pretty stout? I am looking at a project, say a 89 Bronco, 5.8, auto trans, 4x4.

Top end kit, long tube headers, 3.73 gears and a torque converter.

Not looking to run 10's obviously, maybe low 14's??

I will get all the little stuff to get it up to full health, then the goodies.

Doubt 14s will happen. Thats a heavy girl. With the right heads/cam, and weight reduction it ought to get out of its own way. I'd rip all that crap out and start over personally...gear it more towards being an off road beast rather than a 1/4 mile vehicle.

Ditto.. it's my off road/camper truck for the summer

I figure I'd rip out the back seats and put in a small mattress back there. Along with a cooler and smaller barbecue grill for when I go to the boonies. Tiny grill, like those 12 inch camper grills.

I actually might end up selling the Charger and just getting something solely for the summer. I love the Charger but see no need for a Hemi if I don't plan on racing it or modding. Just an expensive day to day driver lol

lol turrrrrd, I had one with a 5.8 and i will say the "6 liter" tune up did wonders for it. made lots of noise lol.

Damn that was a long time ago

lol that has some pick up for an old truck and sounds good too!

From everything I have read, they are pretty reliable and that motor is pretty stout just as long as you maintain it.

I can find them dirt cheap up here. Just as long as it starts and runs, no leaks at the t-case or trans, 4X4 works and it's all good.
