SCT question

SCT question
I tried asking this in the American Muscle forum but haven't had much luck so I thought I'd try asking here.
I have a 98 V6 and I'm trying to find out if one of these is better then the other as far as I can tell one is for 96-98 and the other is for 96-12 so my question is if the 96-98 one is more specialized or if the 96-12 is just newer and thus more advanced and able to cover all model years?
96-98:

96-12

Either one won't make a difference at all. What I mean by that, is the SCT tuner is the METHOD of uploading a tune to your car. Who writes the tune is how good the car is going to run on it. And AM has solid tunes as evidenced by tons of members on here.
Either tuner will work fine. Once you buy it, they will ask for your ECU code off your engine, then all mods you might have, and what type of tune do you want ( 87 economy, 91 performance, ect ect then with that info, create a tune for your car specifically, and email it to you. You download it into your computer, then use a SCT program to install it into your tuner, then use the tuner to upload it to your car. All really only takes 5 mins once youve done it a couple times.
Hope that helps.

Either way, it's the SCT X3 with the custom tunes for your car.
Here's your solution. Nothing against Bama, but I simply recommend Brenspeed.

Thanks guys I was just worried about buying one then finding out afterward that I would have been better off buying the other (generally how my luck goes lol), I was just a little confused why they had two different units when one would do.
Thanks good to know there's no difference.
