bov sound without a bov??
I have a turbo 2.3, and whenever i shift, I get the blow off valve woosh. I know I dont have a blow off valve, because I installed the turbo and intercooler myself. What could this noise be? Maybe the air hitting the butterfly in the throttle body? Did some turbos have internal bov's? All help is appreciated.

how many Pounds of boost are you using because putting a turbo on a stock 2.3L isnt very good you can only run like 4 to 5 PSI because the pistons and stuff wont handle the presure. thats why im looking for a turbo T bird and buying it and swaping the whole engine plus tranny.

4-5 pounds? Well **** me with a teaspoon, I'm running 10 pounds!
How do you predict she'll die?
If it blows holes in the pistons, will swapping in new pistons instantly fix the problem, or when pistons go do they take the rest of the engine with them?

im telling you, it's flutter backspinning the turbo. slowly roll out of the throttle to shift under boost without problems. or powershift, but that'll be worse in the longrun.

When a piston goes, it most times shoots out the block, well in my experience it has. If you swap over to forged pistons (like the ones in the SVO) they will be able to handle the boost.
