RE: v-6 valve covers?
do not get the BBK covers. they are more of a pain in the a$$ than they are worth.
1st the gaskets suck. they have separate compression stops that with 1 slip and there they go down an oil passage and into the oil pan. i had to use 1989 3.8 T-bird Felpro gaskets with mine.
2nd the Hex head chrome valve cover bolts are dead soft and if you over tighten them the hex just rounds out and you will have to drill them out the get them back off
3rd and most importantly they have no oil baffles. when i first installed mine the PCV would suck oil like crazy and oil would find it's way out the breather too. there are bosses cast into the inside of the covers to mount baffles and i had to make my own out of coffee can tin and drill and tap the bosses to mount the homemade baffles.
4th they come with no oil cap but i was able to match the threads up for an APC one designed for a Honda
all in all i paid like $299 for mine and it took 1 week of working on them before i could even use them.
complete garbage if you ask me. nice looking but not worth it.
here is a pic of mine with the blue felpro gaskets with intergral compression stops
my suggestion is to get a set of covers from ford for an 04 windstar with a 4.2 engine. they are pretty cheap brand new and are a real nice smooth aluminum or pot metal casting that can be powdercoated to look real nice or chromed
