There are no differences between x and h pipes on V6s, only sound tone, both have their advantages and disadvantages as far as that one goes.

Well, IMO, Flows are just OK, they'll "SOUND BETTER" as far as your concerned, in that they'll be a little louder up top, but they'll loose a little sound quality, not much, just a little.

an H or an X will give no power gains on an even fire V6 as there are no imbalanced exhaustpulses to even out.

X-pipes sound more agressive up top than an H but both sound good. a divorced dual setup sound great too and makes just as much power on a V6.

instead of Flowmaster 40's check out Force Proseries mufflers from summitracing.com part# FRC-5202. built like Flowmaster super 40's but sound alittle better and cost less than $36/muffler

alot of V6 guy's here run them and love them. do a search for the soundclips of them

An h pipe will only affect tone, it won't do jack for performance, mpg, etc.

Also, exhaust doesn't add anymore than 4-6 or so rwhp on an otherwise stock 99-04 V6.
