WASTE OF MONEY IMO. Plus you only listed half of what you will need to do the swap...but have fun!

Whatever the 3.8, IMO with teh exception of the T-bird S/C are all garbage. Sure theyre great for MINIVANS, but come on in a mustang. Thats a damn womans car. No offense to the ladies.

I apologize for calling all of you idiots. Only some of you are [8D].

As for whats the point of putting a 5.0 in, hmm perhaps it could be that there is more parts available for a 302 than any other Ford engine produced. Period. Easy and inexpensive to build, parts are readily available at most parts stores. I dont see any negatives about putting a 302 in a mustang. Only positives, well except gas milage, but hell the 3.8 isnt that much better.

I was referring to the Ford 3.8 that was in Windstars, Tauruses, thunderbird, sables, and the mustang.
Chevy is a whole different ball game. Their 3.8 is a SBC -2 cylinders literally, they chopped 2 off. THeirs on the other hand is fairly powerful and rev's quickly, gobs of torque, and most of all reliable.

Here we go again. When will the V8 guys stop dragging their knuckles on the ground and walk upright?

For the money spent on putting in a build 5.0L, you can EASILY get the same amount of power out of a V6 and still be ahead at the end when it comes to time/money.

With a good exhaust and intake, the split port 3.8L makes the SAME hp/tq numbers as the 5.0L powered fox bodies. If you do heads/cam/intakes.... compare both with the same mods... Oh no...guess what, they put out the same numbers till. Not to mention you didn't have to swap in a motor, switch back to OBD 1, add a fuel system, put in a K member and all the other junk related to putting the push rod 5.0L in a new edge SN95 body with a V6.

End of story.

PS: The 5.0L as well as the 351 and 460were found in Ford vans as well. Ouch.

Built '85 GT. Using as many factory available parts as I could, granted some have a lot of machine work. My cars is faster than most but not as fast as some and thats with a 3.27 gear.

Im a certified mechanic and Ive worked on cars/trucks for a long time. IMO, the Ford 3.8 is a boat anchor. Not worth the metal its made out of. Ive torn down more engines than most people on this forum. Look, I dont mean to hurt your feelings about the V-6, I like v-6's except the ford 3.8L. You must understand Im about efficiency, and for something with that much displacement, naturally aspirated, its gutless, relatively speaking. Hell, you can get a 2.0L 4cyl with more HP and torque than that thing, which in my mind is pathetic.
