Default A/C Compressor Clutch or Bearing?

My A/C compressor sounds like crap. How do I know if its the bearing or the clutch assembly? I was looking on rockauto.com and it looks like theres a bearing in the clutch assembly also... Or does the bearing come with the clutch assembly?

does it sound like a knocking motor, or is it a grinding sound?

There is a bearing in the clutch assembly that is replaceable. If you are not familiar with feeler gauges and shims, than you do not need to be pulling the clutch off of a fs/fx series compressor. You have to set the air gap and the shim height. For some people it is better to do a whole ac job or take it to a shop.
