I was at work today and it was slow so I decided to check over my car and fix a couple exhaust leaks. I pulled the trans dipstick and wiped it off and noticed that there was a black line in the oil. I asked my boss about it since I didnt know if it was a good or bad thing and he said that I need a trans flush. I remember people saying that if you flush the transmission then you need to change the fluid at regular intervals or the transmission will pile up. Am I right?
I'm also interested in this question. To flush or not to flush, that is the Q.
Whats the mileage? If it's over 80k you shouldn't change it since it's probably whats holding it together, and if its under 80k then you should change it every 25-35k miles otherwise it might blow.

Does anybody have any more input on this? Cuz im also wondering if I should change my tranny oil. My stang has 154k miles on it but it was rebuilt at 90k so the tranny fluid has over 60k....
What about the cars that got tranny fluid with over 100k. Should they eventually flush it or do what?
also do auto and manual trannys take into consideration?
