Need help with GT hood scoop installation
Does anyone know how to install the 01-04 oem GT hood scoop on the 99-00 GT and 99-03 v6 hoods? I already have GT side scoops but I'm not putting them on unless I can figure out the correct way to drill the holes and everything for the hood scoop. Side scoops with no hood scoop would be retarded looking.
Diagrams, write-ups, anything would be greatly appreciated.

I did this. Open your hood and remove the fire blanket. Look towards the back of your hood and you will notice two circles. Imagine this without the bolts through it.
Those are the two rear most screws of the scoop. The large post separates them (if you have it still). Take a large enough piece of cardboard and firmly press the hood scoop down on the cardboard until the screws penetrate through. Be careful of breaking the tabs off though. after that, you can start to drill your holes. Drill a pilot hole in the middle of each of the circles from under the hood as a guide for where those two back screws sit. From there, you can drill the rest of your holes with ease.
One issue that I ran into was the angled bolts. I used the cardboard method, but since they flex a little, you will need to enlarge the holes just a bit. It doesn't hurt anything, it's just a PITA. For washers and nuts (mine didn't come with them) I used M4-.07 nuts and m4 washers. If you have any other questions let me know.

you should have a large thick post at the rear and a smaller thin post near the front that don't have bolts through them.
and just so you know, some people DO cut off the posts, so you might not have them

One of the guys in the GT section posted this for me.... http://www.mustangevolution.com/articles/2009231/
It's a perfect write-up. So with that info and the stuff you guys gave me, I'm 99% sure I can do it without ****ing something up. Hopefully if anyone has a question about a scoop install in the future, they'll search and find this thread or the one in the GT section.
