Carbon Fiber Roof

Carbon Fiber Roof
Should I replace my roof with a carbon fiber one or just reuse the steel panel one? I have to remove the roof panel anyway in order to replace the quarter panel, so I was thinking since the car is being slowly converted to an autocross car, go ahead and make a whole new roof panel for it. How much rigidity does the roof panel provide and will I lose or gain strenght with the CF one. I plan on just glueing it in place. Also should I paint it or leave it bare?

Well the struction doesnt come from the "Floating" Sheetmetal roof itself, it comes from the pillars and the connecting fold above the front and rear glass as well as the seam or fold that follows up over the pass and drivers side glass.
For the cost you would not gain anything worth while from it, but as a drop in the pan to many drops on top it will help.
Just like the old saying goes.
"If you can not remove 1lb from one place then remove 1oz. from 16 places."
So you have to gauge how much money your willing to spend on this.

I already have the carbon fiber material and resin to make pieces. I have a spare roof that I was gonna make a fiberglass mold from. I just dont want to lose any structural rigidity doing this. I was goning to make the sail panels also, but the mounting structure is too complicated for what I can make in my garage.

how did you measure your bodyfat? (sorry for randomness...) calipers and electronic scales are both very inaccurate especially at low bf levels (once you get below 10, calipers get a lot less reliable)
EDIT: start hitting the weights man, that's super light...
