Aside from a vacuum leak...

Well... it SHOULD have taken a day, but when taking the lifter hold off, a bolt fell into the oil pan. Had to drop the oil pan and when it was re sealed, there wasn't enough RTV or something and it leaked. Car ran, but it leaked. It was fixed the next day, though. It was a weekend project. Here's another video

Yea........that damn bolt pissed me off lol. It just had to pop out of the damn hold down plate.
Here is a quick break down.....
-Started around 9am
-Had the cam ready to pull by about noon, should haven't taken that long but I forgot about the allen head bolt in the timing cover
-Dropped the bolt...........
-had the pan off and back on by 3 or so
-installed the valve springs, broke my valve spring compresser, bought a new one, almost took out his eye with a flying retainer (oops lol)
- started it at about 3am or so, drove it, found the leak and burnt spark plug boot
- went to bed about 5am
-He went home at about 630 and I started tearing back into it about 9am to raise the motor and pull the pan out completely to redo it correctly but I only got about 6 inches of space between the block and the pan.
-took a break and started back up around 8pm and finished all the cleaning up of the gasket surfaces by midnight.
- picked up the oil pan kit around 930 and had the pan back on by 1030.
-had the motor back in and ready for the intake gaskets by 1
- He came back by at around 5 with a new lower intake gasket (removed to extract a bolt he broke off a few weeks ago)
- he was together, test driven, happy and gone by 830pm.
Basically it was a very long weekend with 18 hours or so without a break except to eat and get a couple small things thanks to the damn hold lifter plate bolt.... Oh well, it was a great experience for synyster to learn his motor, inside and out. That is what took alot of the time the first day as we tore it down. To make myself smile after hearing the cammed sixer I had to let him hear my car instead lol

I don't have any hose here at the house, but I'll find something to check it with haha. It SOUNDS like it's coming from the drivers side valve cover.... possibly a little lower, so hopefully if anything it's the manifold. It does go away after its been running for about 45 seconds
