Default Super Charger vs. Turbo

I have a 2002 Mustang 6cyl and I want to add some stuff to it since it was my dads car before and he gave it to me as a present for my 17th birthday. i was wondering which would be better to put into the car either a super charger or a turbo and which would be easier to maintain and also where i could get one.

Were in Florida are you located? I personally have a Turbo kit going on my 4.2L stroker engine so I am partial to that.

1) are you aware of the cost?

2) your rear end and other things need to be delt with before you can even think about boosting.

he wont have to worry about the rear- with the open diff, he will never hook up enough to break it!

advise: assuming you are still 17, just work your way up to a turbo or supercharger. start out small with intake, exhaust, stuff like that. stay on here, learn a bunch of stuff, then decide when you are ready. not being a jerk, but no 17 year old is ready for an f/i car

So true Shadow, my first car was a 73 barracuda and it had around 220rwhp and it was more than enough to get in trouble with. Word to the wise, low 14 to High 13 second cars are faster than the number sounds like.

I would get some pulleys to free up some ponys, a drop in K&N, maybe a catback or something. If your car is a 5 speed, definitely get a short throw, stock shifters FTL. GL

Meh, I would skip just randomly adding small bolt ons to your car. Learn about your car and how it works, figure out what direction you want to go with your car and how much you want to spend. Then start adding parts that would build up to that goal. If you wanna go turbo then you might as well skip exhaust work for now, and if you want to go supercharged you don't want to add udps. Just wait untill you have a plan before you start spending money.
