Shop installation incorrect? Misdiagnosis?

Shop installation incorrect? Misdiagnosis?
So I had this problem with the whole car vibrating and the shop told me the harmonic balancer slipped (which when visually inspecting I could see). So the shop replaced it with a Harmonic Balancer from Ford and the problem was WORSE. Now you can actually see the whole car shaking. So the shop told me its the balance shaft behind the HB, and would cost $1400 to fix. So for the past week I've been looking around trying to buy a new car, until I found out from some old forums that the 2000 v6 mustangs don't have a balance shaft. So did the shop install the HB wrong or something? I looked under the hood and can't make it out.

The shop probably installed the wrong balancer for your car. the 2000 V6 have two different balances. cars built prior to April 2000 are externally balanced and cars built after April 2000 are internally balanced. When was your car built, and what balancer did the shop put on there?

Just checked my door's label and just noticed the build date says 09-99. Does that mean it's actually a 1999 model?? If so I feel so blind haha...
Also came across this http://www.enginebuildermag.com/Arti...8l_engine.aspx that says the 99-00 RWD's DO have a balance shaft. So now I'm even more lost

Thanks, that was actually the same picture I was looking at on Google, but wasn't sure of the year. So since my car was built in 99 does that classify it as a 99 or 00 car? Because when it was sold to me it was labeled as a 2000.

Does it have a anniversary badge or just a running pony on the fenders? The 2000 mustangs started to hit dealerships around mid-october so they started building them a few months earlier.
What did you type to find that pic on google as that is of my personal car's engine?

It could have been made in late 99 and sold as a 00. My white car is that way.
I say you have the wrong har bal on there. Did the stock crank pulley have the weights on it? If so you need that crank pulley again. Somewhere I have a pic to show it, but don't have time to dig it out right now.

Yeah the stock pulley has a counterweight near the gear, I just uploaded a pic from my phone to Photobucket, i'll link it here when it pops up. But after comparing the two I think (and hoping) that you're right! And I hope ford refunds me the part..
