Steering Wheel removal
ok, so I bought my 2003 v6 Mustang last summer and when i purchased it the horn didnt work, the cruise control didnt work, and apparently the 3rd gear down shift? on the gear shift didnt work. I was told the source of the problem was the clock spring and that it was an easy fix. Well it wasnt. I have not been able to get my steering wheel off. The biggest problem was the two places to hold screws have been stripped. but i learned there are other devices for removing.
My question is for those who have done this before, look at my pictures and see if there is something i am supposed to take out first before i try to pull my steering wheel out again. Thanks guys!

Disconnect that black harness near the top. A 2 or 3 jaw puller will probably be needed to remove the wheel now. When I did mine, I kept the wheels straight then I made a line marking the relationship between the steering wheel and the center hole, for easier alignment going back on.

DO NOT grip the outter aluminum bars, they WILL break if you try to pull with those.
You MUST pull from the center.
The rounded top bar can be tricky because the puller will want to slip off unless it has a curved hook.
Good luck.
