Default Motor removal on a 3.8

Hi folks, I have the motor ready to come out on the son's '97 3.8 but I needs to attachment advice for the change. I have never pulled one of these with aluminum heads. Where is the best place to attach the chain?

Wrap it under the upper intake.

I purchased a 6" x 13"x1/4" steel plate. I have drilled it to match the lower intake. I have then used a standard motor lift plate available at O'Rielly. I have drilled and will attach it to the other plate and use it for a lift point. I will take some pictures and let you know how it works. Total cost is less than $20.

Probably not the best, but we wrapped one chain around one of the exhaust manifolds and took the alternator out and threaded the other chain with the alternator bolt. It held well, however, and the bolt didn't buckle either.

Hi folks, The intake plate worked great. The motor popped right out. I will try to post some pictures. Easy to manufacture in any home.

Pull it by the headers, for future reference.

We thought about that but couldn't get to the exhaust pipe flange bolts. We disconnected the headers.
