Strut mount replacement

Strut mount replacement
Last winter, I replaced my front struts but no one really mentioned anything about replacing the strut mounts. Since then, my car has made a jingling sound over every bump I hit (and there are a lot of bumps on these poorly-upkept Ohio roads). Well I finally got back to my dad's where all the tools are and am figuring this is what needs to be replaced as everything I have found on the internet equates rattling/jingling noises in the front suspension to needing the supports replaced, which I should have done at the same time any way.
Can anyone else confirm this? And is it true that I'd need an alignment done if I replace the mounts? I figured the same when I did the struts last winter and got an alignment check done as a precaution and they said everything was fine. Also, is it possible the strut bearing needs replacing? At that point, I would probably take it somewhere, but I already way overpaid to have the wheel bearings done last spring when I wasn't expecting it so I'd like to keep it as economical as possible. I just find it an odd coincidence that I replace the struts and then suddenly I have this aggravating noise so I'm almost positive it is the strut mounts that should have been done.
