Default 3.8 auto to manual swap, almost done, just need a little help

Hey there, so this is my issue. I have a 97 3.8 (recently replaced) with a t5 (also just installed)... My problem is that when I drive, my speedometer is ridiculously far off from what I'm going, so far off that when I hit 36, the speedometer reads 115 and the governor kicks in I'm not sure how to approach this problem. also I am getting no temperature readout, the radiator fan isn't coming on, and while driving back from the parts yard today, the horn went off and wouldn't stop. what a nightmare. any help would be greatly appreciated

I didn't, I found the speedo sensor on the trans, so I disconnected it and am able to drive as I please, but no speed readout anymore, obviously. I'm trying to figure out which part exactly I need, I may just remove the sensor and bring it straight to a parts store and ask them to match it. I replaced the temperature gauge and still no temp readout, So I put the fan on a switch until I can figure out the problem. should I replace the ECU??

I have never done the swap so not 100% sure but you could always "borrow" an ecu from someone with a manual and see if it helps. I'm sure there has to be some sort of difference between the setups as I think on auto's you can adjust with a tuner... but again not sure don't have an auto or have ever done this swap.

It's cool that you made the switch, how does performance rate now that you have the 5 speed?

If you can't figure it out, you could get a Garmin GPS with a MPH readout and forget about the speedometer.
