Default no back light on gauge cluster

hello, new here. just bought my mustang about 3 weeks ago. I was driving it home in the day so I didn't notice but when it got dark I noticed there is not backlighting on the gauge cluster. like the pins are lit up but none of the numbers, (see pics) so I was talking it about today and found a random unplugged connector(see pics). so I was wondering if someone could shed light on how to fix my issue, thanks

the brake light indicator and all of those come on when applicable.

unplugged connector, cant figure out where it goes.

It should be a light bulb. A lot of people bought different color lights. Hope this helps.

Hope it isn't like mine. my bulbs are fine but it only works when it wants to. I'd say out of 100 times it works 2 times. Im always surprised so much when it does work I shout at the wife "LOOK THE LIGHTS ARE ON!"

That looks like an aftermarket EL gauge cluster overlay... If so, that little black plug goes to the inverter box, wherever it was installed. Probably under dash or behind the cluster?

Mines still the same. Needles light up and odometer but seldom does the rest of the gauge light up.
