I'm going to keep my eye on it, but wouldn't doubt I'm having that problem. I had installed a new Autozone PCV valve and grommet a while back. I noticed the area on the VC where the original grommet/PCV was mounted was a little gunked up. I cleaned it off and installed the new grommet/PCV. That area had stayed spotless, however I had pulled the plugs not long after that and they all had a little oil residue on the threads. I swapped back the original PCV valve, in the new grommet. I pulled the plugs last weekend and they were all clean, except the #3 & 6 which had a little bit of oil residue on the threads. The #6 being the worst. Also, I noticed it's a little wet around that PCV grommet. So, these could be a combination of A) the ****ty design of PCV ventilation and B) the AZ valve isn't calibrated correctly to deal with the excessive oil suction of the PCV system. I may order a Motorcraft valve and possibly do the in-line filter mod to help reduce. I've heard mixed feelings about the 01+ valve covers helping little if at all with the issue.

But back to the engine shudder problem, after the box of parts I've thrown at this thing, I'm going to have to do a vacuum test and/or compression test to see what it pulls. Someone else had mentioned the rough cold start symptoms may be related to blockage somewhere in the EGR system, which I suppose if bad enough could lead to this engine shudder problem.
