The stock springs are different. The v6 coupe has the softest springs, the v6 vert and the GT coupe share springs and the GT vert has the stiffest spring.
It wont necessarily be stronger. The 8.8 rear still has bigger/thicker axles than the 7.5 but its not like I'm making huge power so the 7.5 will do for now.

Although I'm not positive on the verts, I know Ford used the same springs for both the 99-04 v6 and GT models. There is nothing different about them. The springs are calibrated for the extra weight of the 4.6, that's why the V6s sit up higher than a GT at stock height. Hell, they even used the same brakes for both the v6 and GT.

Touche, I always thought the axles were bigger in the 8.8s too.

Hmm, well its there, just a pretty minimal difference. My car still sits at the same height even with the 4.6, visually anyway. My apologies PNYXPRESS

It's ok. There is always something to be learned about these cars even after 11yrs since the last one came of the assembly line.

I'm still learning tricks about my '91 and '96.

Congrats on the swap, lot of work for a 2v but at least you have what you want, personally I would of tried to find a mark 8 motor

Probably something to do with the different dash harnesses. Ford switched around the style of the connectors used in the dash harnesses from 01-04. That's why I was lucky to get the same year donor car as my car (2000)

Honestly it wasn't a lot of work at all. The car is already setup for that engine anyway from the factory. Just a simple plug and play swap.

Ya I was going for a 4v Mach motor but couldn't find a decent wrecked one at a decent price. What is considered a Mark 8 motor?
